Prognostic Value of the Brain CT-Scan in Head Trauma in Yaounde Central Hospital

Introduction: Cranial trauma is a serious medico-surgical pathology that hinders the vital and functional prognosis. The Rotterdam computed tomography (CT) score refined features of Marshall score. This was designed to categorize traumatic brain injury (TBI) type severity in adults. aim our research evaluate association between CT scores patients after cranial traumatism terms survival. Material methods: It cross-sectional analytical study from January 2018 March 2020, using medical records suffering traumatism, received taken charge Yaounde central hospital. Results: 100 were retained out 115 recruited patients. average age 35.20 with sex ratio 4.55. 1 5 median 2. overall mortality at 6 months year 32%. With an equal compared European studies, we recorded significantly higher mortality. We found sequelae 24% GOS ranged 5, survival without (GOS 1) most represented. There positive correlation Pearson coefficient +0.514. Conclusion: death rate equals greater context studies.
